In 2009, Vipul Amrutlal Shah did the impossible. He put together an army of Bollywood’s biggest names that was rarely done before. In a casting coup of sorts he cast Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Asin, Aditya Roy Kapur and Om Puri in a film called London Dreams. Till this date, no producer had thought of making a film on this scale. London Dreams mounting can be compared to the casting of any big Hollywood drama.
After release London Dreams which was praised for its high production value and music became an immediate fan favourite. Critics hailed the film as an experience that is high on drama and emotions. What made London Dreams special was the fact that it also had some big Hollywood names as part of the key roles. The film boasted of names such as Chris Wilson, Paul Gregory and others. This was the first time that an Indian producer had collaborated with talent from Hollywood. Vipul Shah’s larger than life vision was clearly ahead of his contemporaries making London Dreams a film that has made a place in Bollywood history.
